Hydrology is a major component of stormwater management and floodplain analysis which can be important parts of many new land development projects. The proper determination of the hydrology within a proposed land development site and for the offsite areas draining to the site and near the site is critical to the proper design of any stormwater management systems and to the analysis of floodplain areas.
The following are two books that I would recommend.
